Introduction

Welcome to Horizon Travel. These Terms of Service govern your use of our website and the travel services we provide. By accessing our website or using our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, please do not use our website or services.

Definitions

Throughout these Terms of Service, the following definitions apply:

  • "We", "us", "our" refers to Horizon Travel.
  • "You", "your" refers to the user or viewer of our website or the client using our travel services.
  • "Services" refers to the travel planning, booking, and advisory services we provide.
  • "Website" refers to the website operated by Horizon Travel, including all content, functionality, and services offered.
  • "Travel Suppliers" refers to third-party providers of travel services, including but not limited to hotels, airlines, tour operators, transport companies, and attraction providers.

Our Role as a Travel Agency

Horizon Travel acts as an agent for third-party Travel Suppliers. We arrange travel services on your behalf, but we do not provide those services directly. The services provided by Travel Suppliers are subject to their own terms and conditions.

While we exercise reasonable care in selecting reputable Travel Suppliers, we cannot control their actions or operations. We are not responsible for any failures or negligence by Travel Suppliers in providing the agreed services.

Booking and Payment

Booking Process

When you make a booking through Horizon Travel:

  • You must provide accurate and complete information.
  • You must be at least 18 years old and possess the legal authority to enter into this agreement.
  • You accept financial responsibility for all transactions made under your name or account.

Payment Terms

Our payment terms typically include:

  • A non-refundable deposit at the time of booking.
  • Full payment due 60 days before the start of travel services.
  • For bookings made within 60 days of travel, full payment is required at the time of booking.

Specific payment terms for your booking will be provided during the booking process.

Pricing and Fees

All prices are quoted in Pounds Sterling (£) and include VAT where applicable.

Our service fees are as follows:

  • Planning fee: From £250 (may be applied toward the cost of booked services)
  • Amendment fee: £50 per change after booking confirmation
  • Cancellation fee: Varies depending on when cancellation occurs

Travel Supplier fees and charges are additional and will be clearly communicated during the booking process.

Cancellations and Changes

Cancellation by You

If you need to cancel your booking:

  • Cancellations must be made in writing to Horizon Travel.
  • Our planning fees are non-refundable.
  • Refunds for travel services depend on the cancellation policies of individual Travel Suppliers and the timing of your cancellation.
  • Typical cancellation charges are:
    • More than 60 days before travel: Loss of deposit
    • 59-30 days before travel: 50% of total booking cost
    • 29-15 days before travel: 75% of total booking cost
    • 14 days or less before travel: 100% of total booking cost

Changes by You

If you need to make changes to your booking:

  • Change requests must be made in writing to Horizon Travel.
  • We will endeavor to accommodate your request but cannot guarantee that changes will be possible.
  • An amendment fee applies to all changes made after booking confirmation.
  • Additional costs imposed by Travel Suppliers will be passed on to you.

Changes or Cancellations by Us or Travel Suppliers

In the event that we or a Travel Supplier needs to make significant changes to your booking or cancel services:

  • We will notify you as soon as possible.
  • We will offer you the choice of accepting the changes, accepting alternative services of equivalent or superior quality (if available), or receiving a full refund of all monies paid to us.
  • We are not responsible for compensation if the changes or cancellation are due to force majeure (see below).

Travel Documentation and Requirements

It is your responsibility to ensure that you have all necessary travel documentation, including:

  • Valid passport with sufficient validity (typically at least 6 months beyond your return date)
  • Any required visas or travel permits
  • Travel insurance
  • Health certificates or vaccinations as required by destination countries

While we may provide general advice regarding travel documentation, we cannot accept responsibility for any issues arising from inadequate or incorrect documentation.

Travel Insurance

We strongly recommend that all clients purchase comprehensive travel insurance that includes coverage for:

  • Trip cancellation and interruption
  • Medical expenses and emergency evacuation
  • Baggage loss or delay
  • Personal liability

We can provide information about suitable insurance options, but the final choice of insurer and policy is yours.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Horizon Travel's liability is limited as follows:

  • Our maximum liability for any claim is limited to the cost of the affected travel services.
  • We are not liable for any indirect, special, or consequential losses.
  • We are not liable for any failures or issues that are beyond our reasonable control.
  • We are not liable for the actions, errors, or omissions of Travel Suppliers or third parties.

Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury resulting from our negligence, or for any other liability that cannot be limited or excluded by law.

Force Majeure

We are not liable for any failure to perform our obligations under these terms if such failure is due to events beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to:

  • Acts of God (such as natural disasters, severe weather)
  • War, terrorism, or threat thereof
  • Civil unrest or riot
  • Government actions or restrictions
  • Public health emergencies, epidemics, or pandemics
  • Industrial action or strikes
  • Technical or mechanical failures

Intellectual Property

All content on our website, including text, graphics, logos, images, and software, is the property of Horizon Travel or our licensors and is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws.

You may access and display the content for personal, non-commercial use only. You may not reproduce, modify, distribute, or otherwise use any content without our prior written consent.

Website Use

Acceptable Use

You agree to use our website only for lawful purposes and in a way that does not infringe on the rights of others or restrict their use of the website.

You must not:
